Roger, to answer your original question, my best guess is that distillate disappeared no later than the late 1950s. I don't know for sure; I came along too late to use distillate fuel. My reasoning is based on the last IH tractors produced setup at the factory to use distillate was the 350-450 series in 1957-58 era. My fuel tank was clean also and the carb wasn't too bad either. The tractor also had the oldest style of Champion W14 spark plugs I have ever seen. When it ran last nobody knows.
