Seems to me that 300, 350, 400 & 450's had some sort of captive square nut like a Tinnerman nut and the hoods & grills were held on with a large pan or button head phillips machine screw. The 450 Dad had used about 5/16 or 3/8" dia. by at most 3/4" long screws. Would rattle out & loosen up but you's strip the cross out trying to take them out. I think the 460/560's used something similar but different.
