There is no sense in tearing up the tractor for a plow day, a garden, or some hobby acreage. It will pull 4 bottoms in lighter soils but a much better match for general purpose plowing is 3 bottoms. 14's or 16's doesn't matter.
Especially, if you've never plowed before. You've got less to deal with when you can just point the tractor and go. The closer to the tractor's capacity you get the more skill and experience it takes to do a good job plowing.
If you've got a lot of acres to cover, and you're limited on time, get yourself a bigger tractor for a bigger plow.
