Sometimes the starter will lock up to the ring gear ifit is worn. Will probably hear an initial momentary starter growl then nothing if this happens. Can usually get it to release by putting in 5th gear and rocking tractor. If not have to loosen starter mounting bolts free it and retighten. More likely to happen if battery low also. Otherwise agree with suggestions to check/clean all associated electrical connections.
