Don, don't feel bad. I have an "H" that does the same thing. I've had it for 30 years and I have to shut the fuel off at the tank or it will drain the tank into the crankcase. I rebuilt it once myself and it did it. I took it to the local IH dealer and they rebuilt it twice and it still did it . So, I just shut the fuel off at the tank as standard procedure.
