in addition to what Old-F20 said, take a look at the grounding tab that he refers to. I have had a couple of F-4 mags that over time that tab did not make good contact with the points. it can be carefully bent a little to make solid contact with the points when completely retarded on the timing. BE CAREFUL! that grounding tab can be broken off if you use too much force. Clean it first. If you still have the problem, inspect the clearance when the timing is fully retarded. If it is not making solid contact, bend it slightly to correct.
