I have a friend who recently bought a 1944 Farmall "H" tractor. He is changing all the fluids, and in the manual, for the transmission/ differential, the book says to use 90 wt. oil and in another section it says to use a good brand of Mineral Oil. So should he use 90 wt. GL-5 gear oil or should he use a 90 wt. Mineral Oil? Also would this be the same for a Farmall "M" ?? What would be the reason why one 90 wt. oil would be recommended over the other? Thanks for any response!
