They made 300 and 400 IH in 1956 with 12 volt system and a key switch. It had a odd brass colored key. In fact my FIL had a choice of 6 or 12 volt when he bought a new 400 in 1956. Only series that had that style key then Ih went to the same key for every tractor for years
