First: a 6v battery usually has an at rest voltage of 6.3. If it is at 6, it is not charged up. First step is to check the electrolyte level in the cells and add distilled water to the internal fill rings. Then charge it with a 6v charger. A cheap charger with 6 amp capacity is fine. If it takes a charge it will spin the engine well and you will be happy. If it fails to charge, the battery will need to be replaced. Do not get an 8 volt, it is a miserable bandaid that neither works well nor can be charged well (no chargers for it) You will possibly explode the 6v battery jumping it (just don't) If it is charging the battery voltage will be about 6.8 to 7.2 volts at 3/4 throttle. If not let us know and we can fix that as well. Jim
