It should work off 6 volts. I have an hour meter that's 24 volts and I use 12 volts. It's been on my garden tractor for years. They use to have goverment auctions where I worked. It was in a box that had bearings and that hour meter. It was used, but it still works. They even sold farm tractors and trucks. If it cost too much to repair them they would sell them. Hal
