I also have a 4300. My serial # is 87AH1005. I think it could possibly be the first one made. Mine has been factory converted to an Allison auto from the 8 speed that the first ones had. I was told that the 17 inch single plate clutch could not take the torque of the 817. I have all the parts, service, & owners manuals for it. I also have a list of people that own 4300's. I got a serial # listing from IH that says it went from serial # 87AH1001 in 1961 to serial #87AH1045 in 1965 with a total of 39 produced in total. I also have some of the original sales brochures along with a copied on of the original brochure when it was called the 4WD-3. I would be glad to share some of the knowledge I have with you as I have talked to quite a few old IH men along the road. It would be nice to start a collector's group of all the owners of 4300's.

How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
