I have am M that weighes 3800# and I pull 4200-5200 and have room to put weights where I need them and I do really well with it. You will need to get pressed steel wheels and aluminm weight brackets and unbolt anything you don't need. Just remember that you can keep all the parts and change it back if you ever wanted to. You can call Pete @ CAPP Brothers to get light weight 9 bolt hubs (816-308-8879) they weigh 30#. As far as motor goes, if your pulling stock at that weight you can get by with a 450 block and cam and a 450 LP head. If you get it dialed in right you should have about 75hp.
