You can split it at the transmission. Be sure to wedge the front axle so that it can't tip over. You need to drive in wooden wedge from each side between the axle and the steering casting or it wil rollover since it is offset. Plan on sleeving the the tranmission input coupler. I bet there is a serious groove worn in it. I have one apart now for the same problem, plus others.
