My Super A came with one, it has shutters. The gauge itself mounts ontop of the Gov housing as mentioned. The probe originally went into the lower coolant inlet, but as mnentioned it never registers much because it is on the cool side. When I added a water pump to the tractor (since I had to change the block and put a Super C block in) I also picked up a Super C upper coolant return (also the fan mounts to it) with the probe port already drilled, and now it registers a reading since it is on the return side (or hot side) of the system.
