53, as mentioned, the JD cast carbs have some passages that get crusty from sitting, some of the passages are not real visible, often referred to as "the secret passages", The best reccomendation I have is to google up Roberts Carb repair, they have a great video available for not a whole lot of money, and with the vid come the proper size drill bits for all the passages, we used to send our JD carbs out, got the vids for both the single and duplex carbs and the amount of money saved from doin the rebuilds our selves far outweighs the cost of the vids! Also, just in case you are not aware, the 520 has an oil pressure fed fuel bowl, well worth the time when you do a carb to pull that apart, clean out the veins and replace the 2 diaphrams in the upper part of the shut off assembly, they break down and cause fuel issues too. Stage one Super H huh? us too, lol some things are alot simpler on the red ones...carbs for one thing...but I guess I"d rather replace the clutch on the 520! Pete

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
