The front axles on the 300U tractors did have differences. My 300U is an early model and has spindles that lean the wheel and tire in at the bottom, and out at the top. According to my owner's manual this was a design to allow easier steering effort. But the tires generally ride on the center and outer ribs, with almost no wear on the inner rib. This setup does not lend itself to being compatable with a wide flotation tire and wide wheel. A friend had a 350U with the front tires standing straight up, so that could be compatable with wider tires. When did the change in spindle angles occur?? I do not know.
