Oh the memories you brought back - I have spent many an hour behind a 574 running a wood splitter! This splitter was run off the tractor hydraulis. Seems like it was slow (but a fast splitter can cause injury in a hurry). It had plenty of pressure for splitting oak, maple, birch. It was a 3pt mount, which was handy for its adjustable height. What I do remember is having wood piled all around and nearly asphyxiating due to 574's rear exhaust. Because of this alone, I would mount it on another tractor if it is an option. Otherwise it worked well. Sam.
