You cannot damage a coil except by physical injury, or running it on twice the voltage for 30 minutes. Neither of which apply. If it is running on two cylinders, and the ones that are dead are not getting spark, there are two issues that apply: If the distributor cam (four lobed shaft that the points rub on to open) is loose in its bearing as I described earlier, is one possible issue. A bad distributor cap with a crack or carbon track between wire towers 2 and 4 (and possibly contributed to with bad spark plug wires)is the other issue. All this assumes you have the wires on from front to back 1342, and around the cap in that rotation clockwise. Jim
