May require new bushings to keep it from leaking also, along with seal a good non grooved coupler. I would certainly take it all apart and replace the springs and balls and you may be able to remove a shim or two on body of pump to decrease end clearance on gears. That new of a H should have shims, old ones didn't. It may also have needle bearings but I much prefer the brass bushings. There is a replaceable bushing in the idler gear also. Remember, those old belly pumps are not pressure loaded on the ends of gears so you want them as tight as you can still turn them. That is why heavier oil always works better in those old girls, lots of clearance internally compared to a more modern end pressued pump like all live pumps are. Also, don't overlook the gasket under the relief valve seat. Often left out as it is difficult to locate in parts books for some guys.
