450 should have come with flat washers on the bolts. Although they are close to the same size as a lock washer. Sized between lock and a SAE flat if I remember correct. Never liked to use silicon much. But found it seals the covers better than a gasket with sealer for me. Just a small bead without a gasket seems to work without problems. Use brake cleaner for last cleaning before use. But I do let it set for 48 hours before putting coolant in.
