well hard to say without really knowing all the details. like was the head magnafluxed and block checked out. but i have never heard of waiting overnight to retorque a head. put the engine together then start up and run to operating temp for an hr. or so then retorque while warm and reset valves. i have also seen head gaskets put on dry leak to the outside and then once started and up to temp the leak is sealed. if leaking on out side it just as well could be leaking inside. have you looked in rad when tractor was running? also may need to pull the pan an watch for the leak. i never add the coolant till i am ready to start an engine after o/h.
