Getting the 300U out, going to use it as backup when we do hay later this month. I have not gotten around to making the adjustment in the rear to get the PTO to stop spinning constantly because it has been in storage and we have been working a lot. When I pulled it out I wanted to test the 3 pt arms I bought on ebay using the post hole digger. AND while the digger was on the tractor I thought I would see how well the 300U handled it, range of motion etc. What I found was that the IPTO stopped pretty quickly after the auger engaged the ground. Raise the auger and it spins again. Lower it and it stops. Not really all that familiar with the back half of these tractors yet. Can someone tell me what might be going on here? I need a strong IPTO on this tractor for mowing, post holes, etc. Never had this happen in the past on other tractors. The 300U is new to me and is a 1955. It had good RPM's when the PTO stopped and the engine did not falter or strain (soft soil). Thanks!
