As you guys know I picked up a farmall 504 on Monday. I"ve been trying to run it a good bit to see what needs fixed and what not. First off the tractor smokes. Not all the time. Not at idle and not at full throttle. It mostly does it on startup and when you rev up the engine. I plowed with it today and it has plenty of power (easily lifts the front end up) and it has low hours. I"m thinking oil has to be coming through the valves. I was told I should try valve seals. So what i"m wondering is what part # am I looking for and where should I get some? The NAPA in town is pathetic when it comes to finding anything... Is there anything else I should check with the smoke? SECOND: are there supposed two levers for the 3pt hitch? It has two slots and I only have the position lever. THIRD: when it"s on an incline, with the clutch and brakes in, it won"t come out of gear until I pull the TA back to release it! Is this normal or does the TA need adjusted!? Sorry, that was long. Thanks for any help!
