You think it might be dangerous on the road? I'll be sure to share that with my 77 year old father he will probably laugh since it scared the crap out of him during this recent episode. Thanks for advising me also to look into the problem since I thought that was what I doing by posting here. Last but not least would you can explain to me exactly how a spider gear can be "galled", I have the tractor jacked up on the in question side with the tractor out of park, the axle rotates freely in either direction. As I stated in the post I will be grateful for any help , but your post was absolutely "no" help. Sorry for the vent.
