Thanks so much for the speedy reply. The PTO has never been an issue in the past, until this recent starter repair. I was using it to run my wood splitter just before the starter screwed up. When I pull the lever to engage PTO I get a light grinding as if the gear may be trying to engage, but that's it. Any suggestions ?
