My dad has a 1086, he"s in his 70"s and recently had a stroke. I was helping clean some things up on his place and the clutch (very possibly the TA) acts a little odd. I think the high side on the TA is out, no shifting/change of speed when you move the TA lever and the tractor will free wheel or coast when going down a small hill while in gear and clutch engaged. The clutch seems to work ok most of the time at lower rpm"s. When running at half throttle or more the clutch/TA seems to completely disengage for short periods. If I step on the clutch and idle down, then release the clutch the tractor will move normally again. When the clutch is working normally there does not seem to be any slippage under load just occasionally the clutch/TA disengages, this has only happened under light or no load conditions, never while under load. Any ideas what is causing this issue?

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
