Our dad removed the TA on the older tractors we had (560, 300 etc...) to keep the kids from messing with them. Since they were used primarily for cultivating and hay you really didn't need the TA. To easy for a 12 year old to engage the TA then forget while traveling down a hill and have it free wheel out of countrol (doesn't do the TA any good either).
A good running 350 with a working TA, wide front and a fast hitch is probably in the $1700 to $3000 range depending on the area. With live hydraulics and live PTO they are much more usefull than the older H they are based on.
