You can't take a stock LP carb and blow thru it either. They are designed/calibrated to operating under manifold pressures less than atmospheric - sending pressurized air thru just won't work.

You can mount a regular LP carb on the inlet side of the turbo. But this may cause problems with oil sucked into thru the compressor shaft seal at idle/light load.

Or you can get a "blow thru" LP carburetor setup designed to operate under boost pressure and mount it after the turbo.

At work we had an Onan natural gas-powered emergency generator. Prime mover was a turbocharged Ford V-8 engine. The Impco fuel system consisted of a simple throttle body mounted atop the intake manifold with the throttle shaft connected to the the engine governor. An external gas regulator metered the gas and dumped it into the turbocharger inlet thru a simple tee fitting at the compressor inlet. The regulator received flow/pressure signals from taps above and below the throttle plate.

Once adjusted system worked very well. However the exhaust manifolds would glow cherry red after the generator ran a couple minutes at full load.
