It is not just door height, the whole plant is too short for the new generation of combines. They also wanted to consolidate combine production at one plant. Since the NH plant in Grand Island, NE was just renovated that was the logical choice. The East Moline plant is just a very old plant, goes back to the Farmall days. I live 25 miles from it and have toured it many times. Seems a shame that they will let that big ol thing just sit, but there is nothing we can do about it. I have heard a few rumors that some other equipment might be moved in, such as hay or tillage, but none of the rumors have been confirmed yet.
