The resister is a common chrysler one you can pickup at any parts store for about 3 or 4 $. If you follow the link to Bob's info he gives a NAPA number for it and all the wiring and all. Only thing you have to work out is mounting bracket and belt length. Know what you mean about slow starter. My JD 430 was always a slow starter and I needed it in the winter to plow snow with the loader. Other consideration was that 6 volt lights are harder to find. IOt now starts very quickly with 12 volts. Probably want to keep the old 6 volt parts in case you sell it some day or want to go back to original.
