We used a parts cleaner that had a basket in it with a handle. We let the carburetor parts soak in that. We didn't soak the float. We used a solvent to wash off the parts cleaner. Everyone used that parts cleaner and one day we could smell it and wondered who forgot to install the cover. When we checked the parts cleaner had eaten a hole through the bucket and was leaking out.
