IH Loader manual lists the 2000 and 2001 loaders will fit the 340.
I installed an IH 1701 on my 340U . . . I had to fabricate a few adapter plates. The IH loaders originally came with proper plates for specific IH model tractors, but unless you find an exact replacement from the same tractor, you'll have to fabricate your own.
The 340 had 3 options on hydraulic pump capacity, a 9 gpm camshaft drive, and 12 and 17 gpm trans drive. That sets the speed of your hydraulics.
Some, but not all 340's came with 1,2 or 3 external hydraulic valves: you need two to run a loader. Otherwise you need to add them.
