Upon further inspection this morning the transmission shaft is sitting 3/16 too far to the rear, thus allowing the sliding gears on the top shaft to hit it. My question is how do I move this transmission shaft toward the front of the motor. Is it just the ball bearings sitting in the races? I am NOT talking about the shaft with the pinion, I'm talking about the shaft directly below it, just to be clear. This tractor needs to be finished for fair by Monday, so input is appreciated.
