If the problem is consistent and only I plug it not the points,
First check to see if it’s the plug and wire, Are they in good condition? Swap #3 plug and wire with another and see if the problem moves over.
Next check the distributor cap, on the inside of the cap there is a carbon that rides against the rotor is it in good condition and does it have some spring action like the others?
On the outside of the cap does the wire have a good clean connection, if not clean it with a piece of scotch brite and reconnect.
