I couldn't be absolutely sure. Might depend when the tractor was made. I know I ran two W-4's in my time. The first was in 1968. It had what I called the bone crusher option. Just a straight pipe bolted to a spring with a washer for tension set up. I cut 150 acres of a hay that year and even though I was just a teen ager, my back would ache something awful especially on rough ground. I ran another W-4 all through the early 70's. It had the type of seat you describe and there was no comparison. It was a whole lot more comfortable. Was it an option or improvement? I don't know, but the seat you have, is the preferred model that's for sure!
