That also could have happened , as i have seen this several times . One was on a 1566 pulling a large square baler . They fried the clutch pac on it and i did a rebuild on it . a couple days later they called and said that it just stopped working , so back down to there place and pulled the unit and found that the snap ring had come out . So i turned the snap ring over as there was a little roundness on the one side and put it all back together . Two days later they call and said it stopped again . So back out and back in and this time i stayed and watched them bale with it . The Heston big square baler had a short PTo shaft and NO CV joint and on tight turns that shaft would not chatter but hammer hard and that would shake the snap ring out and it did on the forth or fifth turn . To stop this from happening again as i was getting real tired of WARRANTY work i took a piece of 1/4 inch Key stock and cut it to fit tight between the end s of the snap ring and tacked welded it in place , problem solved it never came out again .
