I was told by a mobil engineer that 10-w-30 would be fine to use in summer and exellent in winter. when these tractors were made the multi- viscosity oils were either not available or not as good as they are now. Our farm suply stores all have non-detergent oil but I don't use any, I like the idea of the detergent carrying the dirt to the filter. Also in MN we have colder temps to deal with. I have a magnetic heater that works well on oil pans if they are steel, otherwise I have stuck it on oil filters, hydralic resivors, ect. I have block heaters for the upper engine too.
