The '37 F-20 I'm restoring had a temperature gauge on it at one time... by the time I got it, the gauge and lead were gone... all that was left was the probe end that threads into the water elbow behind the carburetor. I've only found one topic on YT that discusses the F-20 temperature gauge- in it, one gentleman said that without a radiator shutter (which my tractor doesn't have) the gauge won't move off cold. I don't plan on doing any heavy work with the tractor.
I have two questions:
(1) Do you guys agree that the gauge will just sit on cold without a shutter and without being worked hard?
(2) If it is worth the time and $ to put a temp gauge back on it, does anybody have a pic of where the gauge is placed?
