Since the oil lines to the PS runs through the cover over the pressure switch for these they may have rubbed a bare spot in the insulation. The wiring runs right near the PTO valve so it could have rubbed a bare spot in the harness there also. These are what I would look at first. It will be difficult to see in behind the MCV and all the things in by the PTO valve though. There is a boot that goes over the PTO valve that helps to keep the dirt out is probably shot by now also. There is a grease fitting on the PB lever up in there too.
