what was it doing before u worked on it? did it have spark or not? a magneto usually is trouble free, even just a simple point filing keeps them going. lots of times it the condenser that fails. magnets loosing charge is not real common, but can happen. did you make sure the gap is set correctly on the high cam lob?. I check for spark before even installing them on the tractor if have one off. also make sure the impulse is snapping or you wont have a hot spark.
