Take a marker and make a mark on the body where the tower of the wire goes. Now remove the cap and watch where the rotor stops and snaps when it fires the rotor should be at the mark when it snaps just mite be your problem. The gears that turn the rotor can be moved to the rotor is in the correct position. Just finished a mag that they converted to 12v to get it to start when all that was wrong was position of rotor 12v made it spin so fast the impulse doesent work it also made timing faster and motor didnt run well repositioned the rotor now it runs fine. Even starts better.
