I changed the adjustment by quite a bit to get the pedal free play to about an inch and a quarter. Someone has welded a piece of metal behind the lever, that is attached to the shaft coming out of the clutch housing, which extends the hole for the rod, down about another 3/4 of an inch than the original lever. That might make the free play adjustment, need to be different than what the book calls out for. I cleaned as much rust off the pressure plate and the clutch as I could before assembling them. I am hoping that I just need to wear the glazing off both surfaces, but I still am not sure what is causing this problem. I love how easy this tractor starts, and I really like using it, but I know it is not working right yet. Thank you Steve
