Jason, Another YTer here on the Forum told me this trick to get a IH Dsl to start....... 1.. get hood off! 2.. remove rubber hose between Air-cleaner and Intake 3.. get a 1qt oil squirt can w/ trigger pump, mix 50/50 gasoline and Dsl. Shoot and goodly amt into the intake (a large portion will go into #3 & #4 cylinders, will some lesser into #2 & #4 cylinders, and lesser yet in #1 & #6. Add a good dose of ether (only if you Glow plug system is suspect!!!! Do not use Glow plugs at all!! ) 4 do step 3 while turning the engine over it should start in a little while. I did this with a D282 IH Dsl and res-erected , a presumed dead 706 from the dead! Hope this helps! Later, John A. I had broke prime by putting new Filters on and such!
