yes the rotor doesnt turn by hand,at least it didnt in the position it is in now, i have a new one comming that should be in today ot tommorrow, but im not sure if this is the problem after reading the repies to my other post, what happens if i remove the back of the magneto to look? the piece with the 2 tanks that engauge the engine, any problems? it ran fine for several years, the first time it lost power it shut down by loosing power to the cylinders 1 after the other, found a cracked coil, and replaced it as well as the points, condenser, cap, wires and plugs [ the rotor looked fine] the second time it lost power it backfired several times as it died, so i based the descision to buy a rotor on that as well as it was the only original piece still in there , got to admit im kind of lost here and there is nobody in this area that works on tractors so its up to me to fix it
