I post a couple weeks ago about a farmall m with starting issues,(new battery, rebuilt starter, cables, starter button), it runs if u tow start it(not great though) but will not crank all the way over with the plugs in it seems too much compression. I will crank with plugs out, so I pulled the valve cover and noticed the second valve in from fan shaft has a bent push rod. is that exhaust or intake, and if it was exhaust would it no release the compression full therefore build up too much in that particular cylinder? what would cause push rod to bend, the valves are all free. hyrdolock? I was told from the guy I bough it from said a push rod was bent but was straightened but didn"t specify which cylinder or intake or exhaust. how can u check valve timing with out pulling front cover off to see marks on camshaft?
