our starter and ignition are tied together so that when starting the coil gets full battary voltage using a bypass wire to the coil side of the ballast resistor if this wire gets loosened from pressure washing it will cause the issue. many ignition systems need the added voltage of the bypass. Also check the battery condition A weakening battery will still crank, but its voltage will be too low to fire the plugs untill the key is relaesed. Jim
