Harvey, I'm replacing the wiring because the batteries aren't staying charged. The original wires were a mess (cracked in some places, bare in others). It was starting fine with this configuration, assuming I used a battery charger before trying. I doubt the charging troubles are related to the battery wiring, but wanted to be sure. These are 12 volt batteries. It was wired so that a heavy wire left the positive post of battery A to the solenoid, and a second heavy wire from that same post connected to battery B's positive post. Both batteries had woven metal ground straps to the frame from their negative terminal. It does not sound like what you describe since there was no cable from battery A positive to battery B negative. I could try a drawing from work tomorrow if it would help. Thanks - Sam.
