Tom, Charlie is on the nose. However you won't need to remove the manifold. Simply remove the carburetor and you will have enough room to remove the plate. Look at the inside of the plate where the gasket rests. You might have to find another used one. If it has been leaking, the plate surface might be fairly pitted on the inside. Use form a gasket goop when you put it back together. Let it set up for 48 hours before you refill the coolant.
