Dad thinks this needs to be done because the center link dropped on him so he was stuck in 2nd gear. I am assuming these can be built up with brass rod? I am pretty good at ox/acteline. Of course if they are steel plate a wire welder is much faster, I have built up severl things already with mine. This style shifter is a H pattern mounted on the right side of the hood used on 544 and 656 maybe others. PS: have called it the mystery shifter as you do not always know which if any gear it is in or is it in nuteral. kev
