One of my Ms has a 450 distributor on it like you describe with the tach drive. Ive never noticed any difference in the way it runs or works, but its kind of a mutt tractor anyways, but the engine block is definitely M. Dad bought a 450 really cheap, and was going to fix it up and use it, but it had way to many problems, so we stripped parts off on it and scrapped the rest. The mag stopped firing during harvest one year, and parts were going to take a week to get to us, so he just swapped out the mag for the distributor. As I said, I cant tell any difference in the way it runs compared to my other M.
